The Credentials of Any Good San Diego Criminal Defense Lawyer

By Bill Nimmo The hallmark credentials that you want to see when hiring a San Diego criminal defense lawyer on a serious felony charge are pretty much the same for a criminal defense lawyer anywhere. When you are charged with a serious felony in a state court system where your exposure is many years in prison you dont want someone practicing or dabbling on your matter. You want a consummate talented and respected professional that regularly handles the type of criminal charge that you are charged with. The bottom line is that you want a lawyer with a winning reputation. The profile that makes up that type of lawyer consists of a number of characteristics. You want a lawyer that is well educated. While the law school a lawyer went to isnt necessarily the characteristic that makes the difference, the better law schools produce lawyers who understand the theory of the law better which makes them better able to make arguments that persuade judges. You also want a lawyer who has a good presence and who is respected in the courts. The more respected your lawyer is, the better he will be able to negotiate, win critical motions, and get rulings favorable to your case. A good lawyer who is respected in his community will be respected anywhere he or she goes to handle a case. The prosecutors and the judges get the picture quickly by the way the lawyer handles themselves. You want a lawyer who has been practicing many years if your case is a serious felony such as murder, vehicular manslaughter, forcible rape, or child molestation. The more years a lawyer has practiced means that he or she has handled more situations, more cases, and more trials. That combined experience means that they will be able to analyze your case quicker and with more accuracy than a lesser experienced lawyer. Years of experience means they know all the moves and how to implement them effectively at the right moment. Make sure your lawyer has successfully handled many cases of the type of charge you have. If you are charged with murder, for instance, you want a lawyer who has handled and tried several murder cases. A top gun lawyer should be able to cite several examples of jury trial results and favorable settlements in the type of case you have. There is no reason not to hire a lawyer with a long record of winning. Every lawyer has won a case or two. You want the lawyer with a long list of successful results. In every major community in this country competent skilled professionals exist who are capable of getting you the best results. A little work trying to find one will be worth the effort. If you throw your money away on someone who isnt up to the task you wont find out until it is too late. You can always change lawyers but you may have spent all of your resources. Major Tip: Dont ask people to refer you to a good lawyer. You may just be getting a friend or a business referral. Ask people: Who are the five or ten best San Diego criminal defense lawyers to handle a serious state court felony trial case? You will likely get a list of great lawyers. The good lawyers will all talk to you and you will be able to see the difference and choose who you are most comfortable with and can afford. William F. Nimmo is a highly regarded San Diego criminal defense lawyer who has successfully defended residents statewide for nearly three decades. He has been a San Diego criminal trial lawyer of the year and has been awarded the Directors’ Award for Excellence by the San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association. Aspirin – Natural Friend or Synthetic Foe?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Wise] Richard Wise Almost everybody has used aspirin at sometime in their lives. Not that many are aware, that for hundreds of years a related concoction, from the bark of the willow tree, has been used to counteract pain, inflammation, and fever. During the mid 19th century, organic chemists worked with willow bark, and the flower buds of the plant spiraea ulmaria, so called because its fruit consists of small spirals twisted together. From the botanical name spiraea came the word Aspirin, (meaning from spiraea). It was from spiraea, commonly known as meadowsweet, that salicylic acid was first discovered and from which aspirin was later synthesized. During the 1890′s Felix Hofmann, of the Bayer Company in Germany, produced a new medicine, which he called Aspirin that was then patented and manufactured by Bayer. So aspirin, the most successful medicine in history was born, and initiated what has become the powerful pharmaceuticals industry. Bayer realised that it had a major discovery on its hands, and circulated information to 30,000 doctors. Although aspirin was marketed initially as an anti-inflammatory preparation, for people suffering from rheumatism, it soon became extremely popular as a general painkiller. Although there have been times when aspirin has fallen out of favour, it has recently been hailed as a life saver, in preventing blood clots and strokes. Even more recently aspirin is being recommended as a preventative measure against bowel cancer. In a way, aspirin makes it difficult to entirely separate complementary alternative medicine, from allopathic medicine. Aspirin has been developed from a substance that occurs naturally, in the plants from which it has taken its name. Edward Stone, a vicar from Chipping Norton, in Oxfordshire, England, was a mid 18th century pioneer of using willow bark, and prepared a paper for the Royal Society, in London. It is reported that his interest in using willow bark stemmed from the ancient ‘Doctrine of Signatures’, indicating that the cause of a disease offers a clue to it’s treatment. He seemed to believe that because the willow tree thrived in damp and wet conditions, where fevers abound, it offered such a clue! That may add a natural dimension to aspirin becoming the most popular medicine in the world! It is interesting to note, that in the USA alone 40 million pounds of aspirin, is produced each year. That equates to about 300 tablets per year for every member of the population. If that seems like an overwhelming endorsement, it most certainly is not. A connection has been shown between aspirin and Reye’s syndrome (RS), a rare disease that attacks the brain and liver, primarily of children, including teenagers. The Surgeon General of the Unites States says parents should not give aspirin, or products containing aspirin, to children under the age of 19, unless prescribed by a doctor. Even in adulthood, aspirin is not safe for everybody. It can increase the chance of bleeding in the stomach and intestines, and it has been reported to cause a small increase in some kinds of stroke. It is always wise to consult a qualified medical practitioner before embarking upon any form of self-medication. So please err on the side of caution. There are preparations available from herbal sources, prepared directly from white willow, that are not considered to have the side effects that aspirin can induce in some people. Therefore, if you have any reason to believe that taking aspirin could be harmful to you, these alternatives are worthy of discussion with your doctor, herbalist, or pharmacist. As indicated earlier, it is in everybody’s best interests to consult a qualified medical practitioner, before deciding on what is best suited to assist in maintaining their own health. In any event the unequivocal advice, is not to give aspirin related products to children, including teenagers. Greenhouse Windows

By Jason Gluckman Selecting the right window for you greenhouse is very important as they play a huge role in energy management. If the right material is not chosen or if the window is not constructed properly, all your efforts in constructing and maintaining a greenhouse will be a complete waste. Gaps between the frames will not only let the heat out but will also let in cold winter air that will kill your plants. It is therefore imperative that you fit the windows with utmost care to optimize resources and maintain a comfortable environment for your plants. Greenhouse windows come as part of a kit or piecemeal. The ones the come as a kit might also come with a larger kit including the support structures and other structures necessary for constructing a greehouse. They may even be supplied by a greenhouse construction company, in which case you should consult with the company before choosing a model and locking yourself into a deal in which the windows may or may not be up to your satisfaction. Greenhouse windows that come piecemeal are for those who wish to customize or build their own greenhouse, or for those who need to replace an individual window that has broken or otherwise ceased to perform. Be sure that the manufacturer specifications match the measurements of the fittings in which you will have the windows installed. A proper fit is key. Price ranges vary according to the model. Rarer designs will of course bring a higher price tag, according to the law of supply and demand. Techniques of Wet Fly Fishing

By Brett Fogle Many anglers who are new to fly fishing consider dry fly fishing the traditional way of catching trout. Well, thats not entirely true. Wet fly fishing dates back hundreds of years, well before dry fly fishing came around. Wet fly fishing is one of the best ways for anglers to get introduced to sub-surface fishing. Unlike nymph and dry fly fishing, where skill, practice and precise imitations are needed to effectively take trout consistently, wet fly fishing can provide rewards quickly – even to beginner anglers. Unlike dry fly fishing and nymph fly fishing – when using wet flies, the angler is not attempting to precisely imitate any particular insect. Wet Fly Fishing : Basic Overview Instead of looking precisely like a particular type of insect, a wet fly is more an imitation of a stage of life of aquatic insects. Many wet flies imitate a struggling nymph as it attempts to reach the surface of the river. These same wet flies also suitably imitate dead or drowning insects. Either way, one thing about wet flies is that they generally imitate aquatic insects in motion (moving to the surface, drowning in the water, etc) not just floating merrily along in the current, completely helpless (although that is done, too!). Unlike dry fly or nymph fly fishing, wet fly fishing can also be very rewarding to beginner anglers. Perfect, or even good technique, is not needed for new anglers to hook some nice fish. And the reason for this is because of the way most wet fly fishing is done neither requiring perfect casts nor split-timing when setting the hook. When fly fishing with wet flies, anglers frequently will use 2 or more flies together. By using two or more flies together in a dropper setup (described later), an angler can improve their chances of finding biting trout. So, lets take a close look at how wet fly fishing works, what is used and why any angler should give it a try even on those rivers that are normally the dry fly fishermans playground. There are many different types of flies available for wet fly fishing. Normally, most wet flies have soft hackling. The reason for this is because this type of hackling has fibers in it that move around in the water sort of inviting the trout to take it in. Additionally, unlike most nymphs, wet flies are designed to sink rather quickly, since wet fly fishing is generally done closer to the bottom of the river. For this reason, many wet flies tend to be a bit heavier and are tied in a wide variety of ways. Each way designed to sink the fly in a particular manner than the typical nymph. Frequently, wet flies tend to be fished in areas that have fast moving water. Because of this, many anglers fly fish wet flies using a sinking tip line. While using a sink-tip fly line can definitely aid the fly in getting down to the right depth, an angler who only has a floating fly line should not despair. Generally, simply using weights on the leader or the fly line can do an adequate job of pulling down a wet fly to the right depth. Wet Fly Fishing : Dropper Flies As mentioned, wet flies are frequently fished in groups of flies not just a single fly by itself. When a second, or third, fly is used, it is called a dropper fly. A dropper fly, which is a very effective and rather ancient method of wet fly fishing, is a fly that is tied to the main leader. When rigging up your fly fishing gear using a dropper fly, simply attach the first fly onto the end of the tippet as you normally would. Then, for the second fly, take a 12 inch of tippet material and tie it to the leader about 12-24 inches above the first fly. Attach the second fly to the end of that line. You now have a dropper fly set up. Additional flies can also be attached you are in no way limited to just using 1 or 2 flies. However, the more flies you have, the greater the likelihood of tangles occurring both when casting and in hooking underwater obstructions. For beginner anglers, it is probably best to start with one fly, then go to two flies when comfortable with basic casting and wet fly fishing technique. Either way, one nice thing about a dropper fly is that it allows anglers to test out flies at the same time. Thus, you can tie on one type as normal, then tie on a completely different looking wet fly as a dropper fly. Its a great way to quickly experiment around to see what works and what doesnt on a particular river (especially a new one youve never fished before). you may even be rewarded with having two or more fish hooked simultaneously. Choosing A Lawyer

By Kum Martin When choosing a lawyer, it’s important to understand that because of the complex nature of the U.S legal system lawyers must specialize in specific areas. It is important therefore to find a lawyer best suited to one’s particular needs, not simply one that one finds personally likeable. Often people who choose on the basis of personality alone are unhappy with their lawyer later. Lawyers network with one another and contact information for one another with special expertise. The best source for finding a lawyer then is often other lawyers. It is also useful to search online at West’s Law Directory, Einet, P-Law or The Seamless Web. County Law libraries keep information about lawyers, their activities, and even have a rating system to assert the quality of that lawyer. Trial Lawyers of America’s Desk Reference has a list of the top lawyers in the United States. Law libraries often contain details from jury reporting services. Contact the heads of the local legal community not only to find out which lawyer might be best suited to your case, but who might be unsuitable as well. Try contacting the presiding judge of your local court. Bar associations serve the needs of lawyers and will not risk alienating their members, so they may not be the best place to go to for a referral. Once you have a good idea which lawyer you are going to choose, don’t forget to interview them and remember that this person will be speaking on your behalf. All in all, remember that lawyers understand their profession best; find out which lawyer they would go to if they had a problem similar to yours, and check them out with one of the various resources at your disposal. Healthy Weight Loss Solution

By Nahar Efendy Noordin Most of the adult population has been or currently is on some type of diet. Diets are everywhere! Every place you turn, someone is talking about a new diet. A diet that is unlike any other that came before. A diet that will change your life forever and you wont even have to exercise! The truth is there is no such thing as an easy diet. There is no such thing as a life-changing diet. If I was to be completely honest with you, I would even go so far as to tell you that there is no such thing as a healthy diet! There is a large variety of diets out there, and they all have many different aspects of how to lose weight. However, they all have one thing in common; as soon as you lose the weight and step off of the diet, (poof!) the weight comes back, sometimes leaving you with even more weight than you had before the diet! This is called the yo-yo effect, and it is true with any diet. The point I am trying to make is simply this: A diet is not a healthy weight loss solution. There are many different ways to lose weight, but there is only one way to keep the weight from coming back. Now that we know a diet is not a healthy weight loss solution, we can move on to what is a healthy solution. The only antidote to losing weight and keeping it off while staying healthy is for you to make a change in your lifestyle. Its not as hard as it sounds, and those who choose to make a lifestyle change, actually find it quite easy after the first couple of hurdles are passed, and they dont even look back. There are three important keys to making a lifestyle change, and they are: You must have a balanced and healthy dietary plan. You must adhere to a good, healthy physical activity plan. You must have a change in your behavior or attitude. All three of these things are crucial to living a healthy and long life. If you want to lose the weight and keep it off, making a lifestyle change is the only way to do it effectively. A lifestyle change is a healthy weight loss solution Let us start with number one: having a balanced and healthy diet. Take a good, honest look at the foods you eat on a regular basis, and the amount of it that you eat. Most of us would have to answer that we are eating a lot of the wrong foods, and not in moderation! Fast foods, salty foods and baked goods are all okay in moderation. When we are eating them everyday or several times a week however, they are not okay. Probably the most important key to learn in having healthy weight loss is moderation. Most things are okay and healthy in moderation, but everything, when turned into an extremity, is certainly not okay, and not healthy to the body, the mind or the spirit! Moderation is a must when it comes to healthy weight loss. When your stomach starts telling you that it is time to eat, carefully consider your choices. Make sure you surround yourself with good and healthy foods that are low in calories and high in vitamins and protein. When it comes time for a snack, have some veggies and dip or an apple instead of that bag of chips. Or snack on some cheese and crackers in the place of that chocolate bar. Making these kinds of choices is the first step to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Also, make sure your meals arent left out when it comes to making those good choices. Instead of ordering a pizza or going out for a burger and fries, cook a balanced meal. If you find it hard to do this, I suggest making a meal plan at the beginning of week. That way, half of the work is already done for you. Yes, usually half of the work in preparing a meal is deciding what to prepare! Remember, cook and eat in moderation, and you are well on your way to a healthy weight loss solution. For those whose main reason in making a lifestyle change is to lose weight, there are some options open to you that there never were a few years ago. One of these options is Proactol. This healthy and clinically proven weight loss pill is not a miracle worker, but it is certainly one of the most beneficial tools for healthy weight loss in the world today. Proactol not only helps the body lose weight, but it also maintains other health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. This doctor recommended medication has also been proven to increase joint flexibility, lessen aches and pains and improve concentration and energy levels. Proactol helps with healthy weight loss by lowering the bodys food cravings and decreasing your appetite, making it easier to control your food intake. This also helps you in the learning to eat with moderation. Take Proactol after each meal and you will find that it greatly helps with achieving a healthy lifestyle. The next step to changing your lifestyle is making a good physical activity plan and sticking to it. This goes hand in hand with one part of the third step, which is setting achievable goals. Too many people want to reach the stars right away when it comes to exercising and losing weight. However, like we have already talked about, everything must be in moderation. Exercise is good, but when it is turned into an extreme, it is not good. Pace yourself. Start off slow, and work your way up from there. Rome wasnt built in a day, and if the builders had had the attitude that most people have towards exercise, Rome would never have been finished! Achieving healthy weight loss is not done too quickly either, or it is not beneficial to the body. Make a reasonable exercise plan for yourself, and try to include someone else as well. Studies have shown that when we exercise with other people. We are much more likely to stick with it, than if we exercised by ourselves. Encouragement is the key to getting into a good physical activity habit. Surround yourself with people that will encourage you and hold you accountable to your lifestyle change. Try out a few different fitness programs and see which one fits your life the best. The third and last step to improving your lifestyle and reaching a healthy weight loss solution is a behavior or attitude change. We have already talked about setting achievable goals, and the next part of this step is education. Instead of eating all of the wrong foods and then feeling awful about what you are doing to your body, educate yourself with information such as the energy value of the foods you eat and what kind of nutrients they possess. Making a lifestyle change is more than just choosing the right kinds of foods. You must also change your mind. This simply means that you have to change the way you think when it comes to food, your health, and your lifestyle. Sometimes this also means that you have to figure out why you eat, what you eat, and when you eat. Keeping a journal is a great way to do this. Write down everything pertaining to eating. Keep a track of what foods you eat at what times, but also write about why you ate those foods at those times. Sometimes it may be just because you were hungry, but many people eat when theyre stressed or emotional, and discovering this about yourself is the first step to changing how you deal with stress and other problems in your life. Change your mind. Change how you eat, when you eat, and what you eat. Change how stress affects your life, and learn how to deal with it more effectively. Eating doesnt make any problem go away permanently. One more key to changing your lifestyle and maintaining your goal of healthy weight loss is to conduct regular self check-ups. By this I dont mean the kind of check-up that a doctor would give, but a check-up of lost weight, periodical BMI checks, and of how much you body itself has shrunk since making these changes. Some people like to take measurements of themselves in the areas like the waist, hips and thighs, on a continual basis, such as weekly or monthly. One of the best encouragements is progress. When you see how far youve come already, it is a wonderful boost of confidence and motivation to keep you going. It wont all be a bed of roses however, but when you find yourself feeling down, remind yourself why you are doing it, and how much you have already done. Remember, once your lifestyle change is complete, you will be well on your way to reaching healthy weight loss. Lose Weight & Keep It Off

By Wade Thomas “Weight Loss Warning” – Describes a physician’s investigative shopping experience at health food stores and the purchase of herbal diet supplements. There are several effective ways for weight loss, but most diet experts recommend a combination of healthy eating patterns and regular physical exercises. But a lot of people like to turn to pills, potions, herbs, camps, surgery and other ways to lose weight. Remember to always consult a doctor before beginning a weight loss diet or exercise plan. Exercise and a balanced diet are the most important factors in weight loss. Follow a calorie-reduced, but balanced diet that provides for as little as one or two pounds of weight loss a week. You should avoid any diet that suggests you eat a certain nutrient, food, or combination of foods to promote easy weight loss. When selecting a weight loss product or program, gather as much information as possible. Here are a couple of sites that will help you make an informed decision: www.TopWeightLoss.com features tips, tricks, articles and topics for making an informed decision about a weight loss program. www.WebMD.com also is another great resource for getting started losing weight. Sites featuring tools such as calorie calculators, meal plans, recipes, chat groups and information from weight loss experts. There are also as many weight loss information books on the book store shelves, as there are cookbooks. You will find essential health and weight loss information that helps you take charge of managing your weight, and restoring your self esteem. But use caution before implementing anything that you find. Make sure that it is a healthy, long term way to lose weight, and not an over night diet fad or gimick. Healthy Weight Loss For healthy weight loss, most experts recommend a combination of healthy eating patterns and regular physical exercise. A physician should be consulted to develop a weight loss plan that is tailored to the individual. No matter what the reason, successful weight loss and healthy weight management depend on sensible goals and expectations. For safe and healthy weight loss, try not to exceed a rate of two pounds per week. It’s your complete roadmap to guaranteed permanent weight loss and a healthy lifestyle forever. Programs With so many weight loss programs on the market, the challenge is to find one that fits your lifestyle. When investigating weight loss products or programs, beware of high costs, pressure to buy special foods or pills, and fraudulent claims. You want programs that are designed to produce weight loss at a rate of approximately two pounds per week. There are three types of weight loss programs: 1. Non-clinical programs 2. Clinical programs 3. Do-it-yourself programs 1. Non-clinical Weight Loss Programs These weight loss programs may or may not be commercially operated, such as through a privately-owned, weight loss chain. These weight loss programs use counselors (who usually are not health-care providers and may or may not have training) to provide services to you. 2. Clinical Weight Loss Programs This type of weight loss program may or may not be commercially owned. This can be anything from prescription drugs to hypnosis seminars to gastric by surgery to weight loss camps. A. Prescription Diet Drugs Many prescription diet medicines have side effects and may not work for long-term weight loss. Phentermine weight loss pills are an example of a weight loss drug. Meridia is a weight loss drug that when used along with a reduced calorie diet will help you reduce weight. They even say that on their website, www.merdia.net But it’s not the pills that will keep your weight off. It’s your choice of using it in conjunction with a reduced calorie diet plan, and if you add exercise, your amount of weight loss will increase dramatically!! B. Hypnosis Programs Weight Release is the number one selling and most effective hypnosis based weight loss program in the world. When you use a personalized weight loss program your chances of losing weight and keeping it off are increased. New weight loss program shows how anyone can lose weight with this proven plan. Again, it’s not going to do it by itself, but coupled with determination and desire, it can help people lose weight safely and keep it off. C. Surgery This is why gastric bypass surgery tends to produce greater weight loss than other bariatric operations. Only your personal medical adviser can give you accurate advice about whether weight loss surgery is a good option for you. By doing this you get all the benefits of weight loss surgery including reduced risk of diabetes, cholesterol, heart disease and cancer. This option, known as bariatric surgery, can result in dramatic weight loss. Bariatric surgery is another type of weight loss surgery that has become the popular choice for treating morbid obesity. But should only be used in extreme conditions and under the suggestion of atleast one or more medical professionals. ( I would personally always seek a second opion to the risks and benefits before considering such an extreme measure. ) D. Weight Loss Camps Camp Shane is the oldest of the weight loss camps. It’s a summer weight loss camp were overweight children are happy to be. Camp Shane being one of the best known weight loss camps, is owned and directed by the Ettenberg family. Run exactly as a traditional camp, without unduly focusing on weight loss as a problem. Camp Shane is a weight loss camp where you feel comfortable, welcome and good about yourself! 3. Do-it-yourself & Free Programs There are TONS of free weight loss programs, recipes, over the counter herbal supplements, and huge resources of experts and articles about weight loss available on the internet!! Finding the right plan for you and then following it is the challenge. Also, experimenting with chinese herbs and over the counter supplements can be VERY DANGEROUS!! Extreme caution needs to be used when trying to design your own diet plan. Tips to Consider Before Starting a Weight Loss Plan See your doctor for advice about your overall health risk and the weight loss options that are best for you. Achieving sustained weight loss and its accompanying health improvements requires changes that can be maintained for the long haul. Prescribed weight loss drugs should be used only if you are likely to have health problems caused by your weight. Doctors will tell you that the majority of weight loss products on the market are scams. Many products show quick results in water and muscle weight loss. But doing it the healthy way is usually a challenge. Quick weight loss or fast weight loss is not the answer to obesity. Because of the complexity of weight loss, gain, and maintenance, promises of quick and effortless weight loss are worthless. Slow weight loss is the safest and most effective approach. Many trying to lose weight continually struggle to find an effective weight loss method. You should also note that while a supplement may or may not be effective for weight loss, it may well have other uses. The solution that I found is Weight Watchers. You can eat anything that you want to eat, stay within some basic good heath guidelines and the reason it works the best is: Because you don’t feel deprived. Simply stay with it for 8 to 12 weeks and see the first 10% of your body weight come off. Then decide where do you really want to be. Set that goal, and start moving forward towards it step by step. You may be surprised to learn it’s not what you eat but what you don’t eat that is behind your weight loss problems. For the best results, go and find a live meeting, instead of doing it online. Most people need the value of the support group. You can find one by visiting www.WeightWatchers.com Wade Thomas is a certified teacher of weight loss for Weight Watchers in South Florida. Each week, over 250 people learn how to lose weight, get motivated and keep it off by the strategies imparted by Wade. He has lost over 33 pounds and has kept it off for 2 years. He talks about his struggles, challenges, successes and more importantly his members’ stories, challenges and successes. By modeling successful people in any field, you can achieve the same results. Wade will be starting a weight loss motivational website and a Weight Watchers Support website at http://www.FunWeightLoss.com – Be sure to visit and sign up for his weekly weight loss tips!! Payday Loan Companies

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kristy_Annely]Kristy Annely Payday loans are short-term loans offered for a limited period of up to120 days. They are offered to help borrowers manage temporary fund flow issues between their paydays. Payday loan companies are profitable as the interest rate charged by them on payday loans is very high. They are popular as they process an application and release the funds to a borrower within 48 to 72 hours. Most payday loan companies in the US offer enticing deals to attract people who are looking for a quick source of funding. The criterion for approving a payday loan is very simple. The documentation required from a borrower to prove his or her eligibility for a payday loan include proof of identification, proof of a checking account and of a valid employment status for a minimum period of 3 months. Payday loan companies do not conduct a credit check on an applicant. Some companies require that the applicant should have a minimum monthly income as it shows the ability to repay. Different companies have different rates of interest. In general, lending companies offer payday loans at very high interest rates that may go up to 300%. Typically, most payday loan companies sanction an amount that is 25% or lesser than an applicants gross monthly income. They ensure that borrowers pay back on time by either acquiring post-dated checks in advance or an authorization to directly debit their checking account Payday loan companies typically target their communication and promotional activities at individuals who are caught in a fund flow crisis and are desperate for cash. They offer a smart payment structure appeals to a borrower as free-cash. However, this is not so, as payday loans are high-risk loans. In addition to the high initial interest rate, when a borrower does not pay on time, the interest rate and consequently the debt amount continue to rise progressively. Many individuals who borrow from a payday loan company fall into a debt trap and have ruined their lives. In spite of this, the payday loan companies are legal in their operations as long as they inform an applicant up front about their payment terms. Jesuit Colleges and Universities – Rich in History, High in Human Excellence

By Afa Ismayilova For over 200 years, Jesuit colleges and universities around the United States have been teaching their students the Jesuit Vision of Education- an extraordinary call to human excellence- implementing a rigorous academic structure to challenge and develop every human quality. Each individual trait and talent is taught to be the absolute best it can be. Jesuit philosophy also implies that students learn how to be critical, examine attitudes, challenge assumptions and analyze motives, for this is the key to be able to make heart-felt, faith-filled decisions throughout all aspects of a student’s life. The abundant history of the Jesuits dates back to 1540, when Saint Ignatius of Loyola founded the Society of Jesus, referring to its members as “Jesuits”. With the highest level of excellence in morals as their primary focus, the Jesuits believed the best possible method of achieving this was through excellence in education. Therefore, the fundamentals of a Jesuit education are: “To produce students who can contribute intelligently and effectively to the welfare of society because they are competent and virtuous.” Jesuits were among the first explorers and settlers of Louisiana at the very beginning of the eighteenth century, establishing their headquarters in New Orleans. In fact, the location of their headquarters for the mission was a plantation which is now the central business district of New Orleans, one of the most culturally diverse cities in the U.S. This area of the country is filled to the brim with Jesuit history, as well as one of the cultural and social centers in the south. The Jesuits have managed to keep the two traits of excellence in morals and in education together with the founding of 28 colleges and universities which are currently teaching over 200,000 students in the United States alone. In fact, over 100 Jesuit universities worldwide have graduated over 1,000,000 students. Choosing to attend a Jesuit college is not a decision that should be made in haste. One must be prepared to carry the four basic principles of a Jesuit education with you throughout your college career: Caring for the individual; giving one’s best in each and every effort; finding the role of faith in the world; fostering service to others. Knowledge should not be viewed as an end point, but rather valued as a gateway to wisdom. A Jesuit college or university will help to instill these positive values throughout one’s entire life. How Much Water Do Tomatoes Need?

By Annette Welsford When growing tomatoes, getting the watering right is crucial for healthy plants. Water thoroughly to encourage the tomato roots to seek water and nutrients deep in the soil. With an extensive, deep root system, the plants will hold up better during dry spells. When watering, soak the soil to a depth of at least 15-20 cm (6-8 inches). Water only when your plants need it. Tomatoes like moisture, but overwatering is harmful. You not only waste water, but soggy soil will prevent the roots from getting the air they need. If your plants look a little wilted on a hot, summer afternoon, thats usually normal. Theyll perk up overnight. If plants are wilted in the morning, dont wait — water them! (However remember that certain diseases can also cause wilting.) A thorough soaking every four to five days on light, sandy soils and every seven to ten days on heavy soils is a good general guide for irrigating if you dont get enough rain. Water early in the day to cut down on evaporation losses and also to give your plants plenty of time to dry out. Wet foliage overnight may help trigger some diseases. With furrow irrigation, drip irrigation or soaker hoses, which all deliver water right at the soil surface and not on the leaves, you can water almost anytime. Try to avoid watering at midday though, because thats when evaporation losses are highest. Trickle irrigation is the most easily controlled method of irrigation. The equipment is expensive, but is long lasting and saves growers time. It can also be scheduled to deliver constant amounts of water, which can help reduce the incidence of fruit cracking. Use mulch to reduce evaporation, improve water spread and uptake by the plants and reduce disease caused by rain and water splash. Full details on calculating exact watering requirements (how much, how often for size of plot) plus how to set up a simple irrigation system are provided in How to Grow Juicy Tasty Tomatoes.
